Yep, though Olympus cameras are a pain to power. Panasonic cameras are easy to power externally. Same with the camera external power will last without battery change. My concern was more if it uses a different battery, having to source those batteries and buy yet another charger. Take extra in case you need to change them. For normal use, should be fine with AA batteries.

You can power the Bescor with an external battery I recommend that if you are going to be operating it a lot. There you would need the zoom in addition to the pan/tilt. Clamp the Bescor over the edge, control the setup remotely. I have the remote head for shooting rapellers. Particularly since I'm mainly doing it as a favor to a friend, and I don't do much video other than this, if it came to new lens or pan/tilt, the new lens might win out. I consider getting the CamRanger solution every once in a while, but then other equipment rises to the top of the buy list. In addition, the place (Hammond Castle in Gloucester) was built by one of the creators of radio controlled technology, but I find in practice that wifi is hard to keep a connection going within the castle. Generally, I'm just panning side to side, and not zooming. The venue has 3 stages, one in bright sun, one indoors with very poor light (but good acoustics), and a third that is outdoors, but it shaded but there is limited seating, and I tend to need the 9-18mm lens. I have the 12-50mm, but for this one case, it isn't that useful. I use an iPhone to control the camera, and the wired remote with 10foot extension cable for the Bescor. These aren't fast lenses, so they work with good light. I use either the Olympus 12-50 or Panasonic 45-175. In addition, I recommend using a power zoom lens. My store has both a Camranger MP-360 and a Bescor MP-101 listed but the Camranger is out of stock (my store tends to have out of stock items listed long after there is no hope of getting another one back). That will had several hudred to the price (you need a CamRanger remote and CamRanger controller). That way, you can add wireless remote control later if you decide you need it. I do recommend getting the version that is compatible with wireless remote control (it does 360 degree rotation). I did come across panoramic heads (like the Movo Photo MGB-5), but they seemed to be limited to just doing panoramas and did not have a control that I could just do off by one movements. However, in reading the reviews, I did see some reviews which said their units failed after a few months. It seemed to be the main solution that could hold the weight but was not priced too high. I have one, and have had no issue with it.
